The Japanese publisher Takarajimasha is publishing a discussion book titled Mado-Magi o Katari Taosu on September 30. The book is a compilation of opinions from huge fans of the Puella Magi Madoka Magica television anime series, including director and scriptwriter Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell, Patlabor, The Sky Crawlers). The book will cost 1,000 yen (about US$13).

Another well-known anime and manga figure has also recently given his opinion on the Madoka Magica series. Manga creator Kazuo Koike (Lone Wolf and Cub, Crying Freeman) posted his reaction to the series on his Twitter account on Sunday. (Note: The linked posts contain spoilers for the series written in Japanese.)

Koike wrote that there were some parts of the series he did not understand, such as the relationship between the character Homura Akemi and Kyubey. He also acknowledged that he disliked the beginning of the series. Koike further mentioned on his Twitter account on Tuesday that the studio, director, and staff were all high-caliber, so he had high expectations for the series that weren't betrayed. He wrote that the series forcefully won him over.

I have, and it is good, a different take on the magical girl genre.

Sometimes it was a little confusing, mainly the motive of their guide, Kyuubey or kubey etc. but it is all explained.
