A legislative proposal was submitted on February 24 to amend Metropolitan Tokyo's youth welfare law on child pornography to include sexually provocative, "visual depictions" of characters who sound or appear to be 18 years old or younger. In addition to clauses that restrict the depictions of "nonexistent youths," the amendment has clauses to restrict the Internet use of minors through filtering software and services in net cafés and on mobile phones.

X Japan to Move to L.A., Hold 'Simple' Concert There |

X Japan leader Yoshiki revealed on Friday that the entire rock group plans to relocate to Los Angeles and hold a concert there as its first official American performance. Yoshiki revealed the plans during the unveiling of his Yoshiki Jewelry brand's new collection in collaboration with Kuwayama. Guitarist Sugizo made a surprise onstage guest appearance at Friday's event before about 120 invitees, and then Yoshiki made the announcement that all of X Japan will be moving to Los Angeles.

The April issue of Kinema-Junpo's DVD Navigator magazine is announcing that Pony Canyon's first six volumes of the K-ON! anime have won the DVD of the Year 2009 award in the TV Anime/OVA category. The North American anime and manga distributor Bandai Entertainment has announced on Monday that it has licensed two new manga anthology series: Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Knights and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Queens.
